Although Carhartt products are known for their incredible durability and longevity, they continue to make small changes to their products to ensure their products are helping you complete a task rather than hindering you. This summer Carhartt is releasing the B320 Men’s Relaxed Straight Jean. This jean was designed by taking many of the features customers loved from previous relaxed fit styles and combining them to offer the new B320. In this article we will take a look at the changes that were made and how those changes will benefit you as the customer.
The first noticeable difference in this pant compared to many previous versions of the relaxed fit styles that Carhartt produced is the 11.75-ounce ringspun cotton that they used instead of the more traditional 15-ounce cotton denim. This lighter weight denim will give the jean a cooler feeling in warm temperatures and a more comfortable fit right off the shelf. Some Carhartt customers might be concerned with the lighter weight denim wearing out quicker than their more sturdy relaxed fit jeans but from our experience wearing and washing the jeans quite a few times in a short time period that they feel as comfortable and durable as when we bought them. The washes that they chose for the denim are new colors for them as well. They are more modern than their traditional Carhartt B17 and B160 however not as controversial as the Carhartt B310 and B311 of 2010. The two color choices for the fall of 2011 are light weathered blue and weathered blue. These washes allow the jean to fit in well on any job site but also while spending a night out on the town.
Carhartt has continued their tradition of triple-stitched main seams throughout this jean. These triple-stitched seams gives Carhartt fans the understanding that they should expect the same durablity and quality out of these pair of jeans as they have experienced in the past with similar styles. The fit of these new relaxed fit jeans has changed slightly from previous relaxed fit jean styles. The B320 Relaxed Straight Jean features a lower rise which has the jean sitting below the natural waist. Many jean trends are going in this direction so an updated fit is a big step in Carhartt connecting with the world’s next generation of workers. Overall, we are very impressed with this new jean that Carhartt has added to their line-up and look forward to the addition of many new future products for Carhartt this fall.
